| About Grace:
My name is Grace Zasacky and I am a retired nurse. I started my professional life as a Veterinary Technichian where I worked in small animal practices for over 20 years. After that, I decided I wanted to be self employed so I could make my own hours and spend more time with my children. I took my long time hobby of antiques and started purchasing them in Europe and then selling them around the US. I also spend many years restoring antique china and carving and guilding anitque frames. My final career was as a registered nurse in an emergency room for 13 years. I retired in 2021 and have since pursued my artistic side through oil painting and did voluntering with a large animal rescue. I also enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity in the past and hope to return to that this year. My love for helping people led me to feel the need to act on the current immigration situation. Having spent many years admiring the courage of my grandparents, who immigrated from Sicily and Poland in 1910, I am heartbroken by our current treatment of immigrants in our country. In speaking with people, I realized the lack of knowledge of how our immigration system works is one of the the reasons for our current situation. I believe in the importance of education and am currently working on educating groups on immigration in hopes of bring about changes in our system. |
