Wir treffen uns zunächst an der Bar zu einer Stunde Networking und begeben uns gegen 19 Uhr in ein Privatzimmer zum Abendessen mit anschließendem Vortrag und Diskussion.

Topic: “Thoughtful Transatlantic Networking” versus “Working the Room”

About the Speaker: 
 
– Education: 
Dual law degrees from German and U.S. Universities (wrote LLM thesis about US investments in the German “Neue Bundesländer”). Was permitted to German bar and currently is member of the Michigan Bar and its International Section
 
– German work experience: 
Former In-House Senior Legal Counsel and later Co-President for 10 years (in charge of legal, compliance, engineering, media & international relations) with large Swiss-German group of companies (development and management of large commercial real estate). Shareholders were major European banks and insurance companies. Longtime delegate member to AmCham Germany for past employer since early 1990’s (www.amcham.de
 
– American work experience: 
Worked as Senior Attorney with large, 100 year old Michigan law firm in Bloomfield Hills for 4 years in business and immigration law for international companies and still collaborates with this firm on several international clients Formed his own law firm, LEMKE & ASSOCIATES PLLC beginning of 2010, focusing on business and immigration law for international (primarily European) companies and also assists companies on both sides of the Atlantic with contract negotiations, with a thorough understanding of the different German and American business cultures
 
Active and contributing member of German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest, Chicago, USA since 2000, providing presentations and advice for German business delegations from German technology clusters, supported by the German 
government.

German native (born in Frankfurt area, Germany), married to U.S. citizen, three (German-American) children and has been in the U.S. for 20 years and has
German and U.S. citizenship
 
 
Appointed by AmCham Germany in 2010 as “Senior Advisor USA-Midwest”, providing services to AmCham Germany members with business matters in the United States

AmCham Germany was founded in Berlin on 30 January 1903 as the American Chamber of Commerce. AmCham Germany is the oldest bilateral trade association in Germany and the second oldest AmCham in the world. Today, with over 3,000 members, AmCham Germany is the largest American Chamber of Commerce in Europe.

Serves on the advisory boards of Automation Alley, International Business Center (www.automationalley.com), Walsh College in Troy, MI and as Council + Board Member of the Michigan Bar International Law Section

Die Kosten für den Abend betragen $28. In diesem Preis inbegriffen ist ein reichhaltiges Dinner Büffet mit Fisch, Hühnchen, Pasta oder Kartoffeln, Salat, Gemüse und Nachtisch, einschließlich nichtalkoholischer Getränke wie Tee, Kaffee und Decaf, sowie Bedienung und Steuern.
 
Soft Drinks müssen extra bezahlt werden. 
 
Bitte möglichst mit Scheck bezahlen ($28, ausgestellt auf GPWA, Inc.), sonst passendes Bargeld bei der Verteilung der Namensschilder überreichen. 
  
Bei Anfahrt aus südwestlicher Richtung ist es ratsam,  statt I-696 East die I-96 East (Richtung Detroit) oder 8-Mile Road East zu Telegraph North zu nehmen. Das geht meist schneller und ohne Verkehrsstockungen.
 
Bitte seid rücksichtsvoll und meldet euch rechtzeitig an! Das Hotel muss die Anzahl der Teilnehmer bereits am Mittwochabend von uns erhalten.
